Elma Powell Phillips

Elma Powell Phillips, 79, of Troy died Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2001, at Edge Regional Medical Center.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 30 at Dillard Funeral Home Chapel in Troy with the Rev. W.O. Sanders officiating. Burial will be at Green Hills Memorial Park in Troy with Dillard Funeral Home of Troy directing.

Survivors include a daughter, Judy (Stan) Baxter of Troy; three sons, Richard (Diane) Head of Birmingham, Ronnie (Emily) Head and Randy Head, all of Troy; five grandchildren, Mandy Young, Karen Faulkner, Jennifer Fischer, Jeff Head and Mark Head; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Madge Gibson and Nell Culver.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Pursur and Ruby Powell; her husband, M.E. Phillips; grandson, Kelly Baxter.

Pallbearers will be Columbus Patman, Tony Smith, Buddy Hobbs, Tommy Youngblood, Steve Wilkes and Raymond Ledford.

Alice Cobb LeCroy

Alice Cobb LeCroy, 73, of Troy died Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2001, at Edge Regional Medical Center.

Services will be at noon Friday, Nov. 30 at Dillard Funeral Home Chapel in Troy with the Rev. Edward Smith officiating. Burial will be at Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery with Dillard Funeral Home of Troy directing.

Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Alice and Ray Rhodes, Reba and William Helms, Sharon and Donald Wilson, all of Troy; two sisters, Mary Carswell of Tampa, Fla., and Pauline Williamson of Monroeville; brothers, Jerry Cobb of Tampa, Pete Cobb, Billy Cobb and Leo Cobb, all of Troy; five grandchildren, Pamela Andress, Stephanie Peacock, Tanya Gray, Michael Rhodes and Jeff Helms; 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bennie LeCroy; grandson, Bennie Ray Rhodes; great-grandson, Johnthan Lee Andress.

Nephews will serve as pallbearers.

Emogene Lockley Walters

Emogene Lockley Walters, 70, of Goshen died Monday, Nov. 26, 2001, at Edge Regional Medical Center.

Services were at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 28 at Dillard Funeral Home Chapel of Troy with the Revs. Lavon Davis, Andy Blackmon and Wayne Locklar officiating. Burial was at Hillcrest Cemetery in Goshen with Dillard Funeral Home of Troy directing.

Survivors include her husband, Titus Walters of Goshen; two daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Jean and Russell Teal of Eufaula, Glenda and Mike Mixson of Helena; grandchildren, Tressa (Jamey) Dubose, Shelby Mixson, Russell Teal Jr. and Stephen Mixson; brother and sister-in-law, Carlton (Jean) Locklar of Goshen; brother-in-law, Marion West.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Omer and Nellie Lockley, and a sister, Elizabeth West.

Memorial contributions may be made to Goshen United Methodist Church.

Pallbearers were Ben Davis, Watson Kyzar, Forrest Lee, Danny Rhodes, Bart Snider and Larry Snider.

Jean T. Farrar

Jean T. Farrar, 71, of 509 Maple Street in Troy, died Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2001, at Healthsouth Rehab Montgomery.

Services will be at 2 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 29 at Skeen Funeral Home Chapel in Troy with the Rev. Steve Rascoe officiating. Burial will be at Green Hills Memorial Park with Skeen Funeral Home of Troy directing.

Survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law, Kay and Gary Dobbs of Wetumpka and Leesa Kelly of Troy; three grandchildren, Rachel, Michelle and Kathryn Kelly, all of Troy; one sister, Judy Morgan of Luverne.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., today at Skeen Funeral Home in Troy.

Velma Buntin Morgan

Velma Buntin Morgan, 95, of Winter Park, Fla. died Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2001.

She was a native of Pike County, along with her husband, Jimmy Morgan, and a large family of brothers and sisters, all of whom preceded her in death. Her parents were James Talley and Emma James Martin Buntin, who are buried at Bethel Baptist Chuch, which was built in 1825 just outside Brundidge.

Mrs. Morgan is survived by one child, Bibb Davis Morgan, and his wife, Joyce Green; one grandson, Jimmy Robert Morgan; one granddaughter, Patricia Morgan Frame; and two great-grandsons, Jason and Jesse Morgan.

Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until service time at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 1 in the chapel of Gray Funeral Home in Union Springs. Dr. Matt Helms will officiate the service. Burial will follow immediately in Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery in that community.

Pallbearers will be Frank Starling, Ronald Sanders, Michael DuBose, Richard Green, Steve Green, LaDon Green and John Robert Green.
