Mrs. Linda Faye Erb

Mrs. Linda Faye Erb, 50, of Tallassee, died Saturday, Oct. 27, 2001.

Services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 29 at First Baptist Church in Tallassee with the Rev. Derek Gentle officiating. Burial will be held at Rose Hill cemetery with Jeffcoat Funeral Home of Tallassee directing.

Survivors include her husband, Linwood S. Erb of Tallassee; daughter, Stacy Erb (Tim) Oliver of Tallassee; son, Scott Erb of Troy; mother Catherine W. Oliver of Wewahitchka, Fla.; a sister, Dottie Oliver (John) Strength of Senola, Ga., a brother, Tommy R. (Shelly) Oliver of Port St. Joe, Fla.; grandsons, Zachary J. Oliver and Lincoln S. Oliver of Tallassee; nieces and nephews, Erin O. Watson, Richard Coffey, Stephen Coffey, Jay Strength and Kelly Tyler.

Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, c/o Marilyn Nelson, P.O. Box 780202, Tallassee, AL 36078 or to Community Hospice, 875 Friendship Road, Tallassee, AL 36078.

The family will receive friends today from 4-6 p.m. at Jeffcoat Funeral Home. The body will lie-in-state one hour prior to the service.

Ruth Jeffcoat Starling

Ruth Jeffcoat Starling, 82, formerly of Troy, died Friday, Oct. 26, 2001 at Edge Regional Medical Center.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 28 at the chapel of Dillard Funeral Home of Troy with the Rev. Rick Hayes officiating. Burial will be at Green Hills Memorial Park with Dillard Funeral Home of troy directing.

Mrs. Starling was the wife of the late Mr. Pugh Starling. She was a devoted wife and mother, a long-time active member of Southside Baptist Church and before that Goodhope Baptist Church. She held many assignments for service in the church and the Baptist association, most recently as a teacher of a Southside ladies’ Sunday school class. Mrs. Starling worked for many years as a clerk then an owner/manager of ‘The Corner Dry Goods Store" in Troy. She was a renowned cook and enjoyed preparing dinners and encouraging fellowship among guests.

Survivors include two children and their spouses, Ann and Wendell Sanders of Enterprise and Jarel and Sherry Starling of Huntsville, five grandchildren, Virginia and Brian McLeod of Jack, Woody Sanders of Tallahassee, Todd Sanders of Montgomery, Amanda and Jameson Platte of New Jersey, Monica Starling of Auburn University; four great-grandchildren; a brother Ervin Jeffcoat of Goodhope Community.

She was also preceded in death by her parents Asa and Eula Bay Jeffcoat.

Serving as active pallbearers will be Brian Beasley, Brian McLeod, Todd sanders, Woody Sanders, Jack Jeffcoat and Gary Callin.

Honorary pallbearers will be the Gleaners Sunday school Class of Southside Baptist Church.

Memorials may be made to the Southside Baptist church or the Alzheimers Association.
