Beulah player records 21 tackles

Chris Evans of Beulah High School recorded 21 tackles to move into the prep spotlight selected by the Alabama High School Athletic Association.
A survey of football games statewide is made weekly.
Evans, a middle linebacker, was credited with the 21 stops in Beulah’s 28-12 victory over Marbury. The senior has averaged 18 tackles per game this season.

Casey Rogers of Sylvania rushed 24 times for 364 yards and six touchdowns (7, 50, 51, 75, 54 and 19 yards) in a 47-20 win over Piedmont.
Chauncey Malone ran for 205 yards and two touchdowns (63 and 64 yards), returned a kickoff 73 yards for a score, and returned a pass interception 99 yards for another TD in West Morgan’s 42-13 triumph over Good Hope.
Eric Packer of Wilcox Central rambled for 290 yards and four touchdowns in a 58-0 victory over Southside-Selma.
Jake Thompkins completed 20 of 29 passes for 277 yards and four touchdowns in Russellville’s 42-19 win over Buckhorn.
Allen Swedenburg of South Lamar rushed for 203 yards and five touchdowns (16, 10, 34, 1 and 42 yards) in a 49-21 triumph over Cordova.
Anthony Hines ran for two touchdowns and threw a pair of 42-yard scoring passes in Lanett’s 42-7 win over Alabama Christian.
Grant Brigham of Mountain Brook rushed for three touchdowns and caught a scoring pass in a 43-20 triumph over Woodlawn.
Andrew McMichen of Sand Rock completed 12 of 18 passes for 259 yards and a touchdown in a 14-12 win over Pisgah.
Jason Allen rushed 10 times for 241 yards and three touchdowns in Muscle Shoals’ 33-6 triumph over Coffee.
Brett Borden of Phil Campbell completed four passes-all for touchdowns-in a 45-0 victory over Danville.
Larry Davis rushed for 256 yards and four touchdowns (34, 64, 12 and 5 yards) in Huffman’s 41-28 win over Shades Valley.
Montrell Armstrong of Clarke County ran for 271 yards and three touchdowns in a 38-20 victory over Opp.
Colbert County’s 27-6 win over Lexington gave Coach Jimmy Moore his 300th career victory, over 200 of them coming while he coached in Mississippi.
Rhod Carroll of Autaugaville rushed for 252 yards and four touchdowns in a 48-14 win over Isabella.
Neil Foster ran 14 times for 229 yards and three touchdowns in Dora’s 21-6 triumph over Moody.
Obie Trotter of Robertsdale completed 10 of 23 passes for 200 yards and a touchdown and ran six yards for the winning touchdown in a 20-13 overtime win over Shaw.
Darron Tagger, rushing for 181 yards on 23 carries, raced 57 yards for the winning touchdown in Prattville’s 14-11 victory over Robert E. Lee, led by Joseph Dillard’s 14 tackles that included a sack and three other stops behind the line of scrimmage.
Dusty Ball of Haleyville ran for three touchdowns and passed for another in a 28-14 victory over Hamilton.
Josiah Hooper completed 14 of 17 passes for 180 yards and a pair of touchdowns and also rushed for 69 yards and two TDs in Westbrook Christian’s 35-24 triumph over Cleveland.
Michael Beasley of Appalachian threw for 146 yards and two touchdowns and rushed for 144 yards and two TDS in a 47-21 victory over Valley Head.
