Louise Jackson

Louise Jackson, 84, of Grady, passed away Sunday, Oct. 7, 2001 in a local hospital after a brief illness.

Services will be at 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 10 from the chapel of Brooks-Cargile Funeral Home with the Revs. Chuck Francisco, Joe Leverette and Keith Gamble officiating. Burial will be in Pisgah Cemetery.

Mrs. Jackson was preceded in death by her husband, Mark P. Jackson, and her sons, Franklin D. Jackson and Robert L. Jackson.

She is survived by four daughters, Jane (Mrs. Claude) Russell, Joyce Johnson, Joan (Mrs. Harry) Hassey and Mary Hallman; one daughter-in-law, Daisy Jackson and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Honorary pallbearers will be Mark Johnson, Paul Johnson, Steven Russell, Herbert Hassey and Timothy Perry.

Visitation will be 1:30-2:30 p.m., Wednesday at Brooks-Cargile Funeral Home.

Wallace Raymon Mills

Wallace Raymon Mills, 76, of Union Springs died Thursday, Oct. 4, 2001.

Services were at 11 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 6 at Eastside Baptist Church with Dr. Steve Bailey officiating. Burial was at Union Springs Perpetual Care Cemetery with Gray Funeral Home in Union Springs directing.

Mr. Mills was an active member of Eastside Baptist Church, an avid golfer and sportsman and, certainly, will be missed by this community.

Survivors include wife, Myrtice M. Mills; two sons and daughters-in-law, Damon and Donna Mills of Montgomery and Laymon and Nell Mills of St. Simon Island, Ga.; two daughters, Darolyn Arrington and Darleen Daugherty, both of Montgomery; five grandchildren, Meagan LaRae and Jessica Nichole Daughterty, Wallace Damon Mills, Carla Diane and Nonnie Kay Arrington; two brothers, Williard B. Mills of Jacksonville, Fla. and Wyatt G. Mills of Keystone Heights, Fla.; three step sons and daughters-in-law, Dickey and Teresa Driggers, Steve and Lynn Driggers of Union Springs and Brent and Bonnie Driggers of Clarksville, Tenn.; one step daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia and Doug Jordan of Birmingham; nine step grandchildren, Chris, Heath, Jessica, Jennifer, Steven, Jon, Brad, Leigh and Karen Driggers; one step great-grandchild, Abby.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.

Pallbearers were: Ellis Ingram, C.M. Blue III, Steve Driggers, Randy Dunn, Wallace Mills and Ronnie Mills.

Jesse William Barr

Jesse William Barr, 71, of Troy died Saturday, Oct. 6, 2001 at Edge Regional Medical Center.

Services were at 2 p.m., Monday, Oct. 8 at Southside Baptist Church with the Revs. Mack Lowery and Ken May officiating. Burial was at Hebron Cemetery in Jack with Dillard Funeral Home of Troy directing.

Mr. Barr worked 18 years for the Dairyland Meadow Gold Dairy and, then, worked and retired from Liberty National Insurance Company as an insurance agent.

Survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law, Betty Barr (Charles) Lemmond of Alexander City, Jacqueline Barr Bundy of Troy; son and daughter-in-law, Randall and Sheri Barr of Troy; grandchildren, Lori Ames Lemmond, Chuck Lemmond, Christy Lemmond Champion, Donna Marie Boswell and Cody Barr; great-grandchildren, Audrey Champion and Lexie Champion; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Merle Baker of Jack; Mary Alice (Vernon) Napper of Jack; brother-in-law, Douglas Green of Jack.

He was preceded in death by parents, Minnie and Charlie Barr; and a sister, Grace Green.

Pallbearers were: Phillip Barbaree, Wyman Hamm, Veryl Lassiter, Larry Green, Freddie Napper and Mickey Napper. Honorary pallbearers were members of the Men’s Four Sunday School Class at Southside Baptist Church.

Irene Henderson Sanders

Irene Henderson Sanders, 57, of Troy died Sunday, Oct. 7, 2001 at Edge Regional Medical Center.

Services will be at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 9 at Dillard Funeral Home Chapel in Troy with the Rev. W.O. Sanders officiating. Burial will be at Providence Cemetery with Dillard Funeral Home of Troy directing.

Survivors include one daughter, Eugenia Hope McCarter of Banks; two sons and daughters-in-law, William Gilbert and Joanne Sanders of Brundidge, Ronald Gene and Norma Jean Sanders of Banks; nine grandchildren, Brandy Hope Sunday, Beth Sanders Garrenger, Shandi Sanders, Amberly Sanders, Kendell Donaldson, Joey Sunday, Cameron Sanders, Douglas Sanders, Geoffrey Butterbean McCarter; sisters, Sue Hoover of Goshen, Paulette Madsen of Manti, Utah and Gwen Qualls of Troy.

Pallbearers will be Shane Phillips, Jacky Richburg, Les Richburg, Shaun Richburg, Steve Sanders and Wade Sanders.

Blake Carnley

Blake Carnley, 14, of Troy died Monday, Oct. 8, 2001 in Troy.

Services will be at 11 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 11 at Dillard Funeral Home Chapel in Troy with the Rev. Clifford Mathews officiating. Burial will be at Wesley Chapel Cemetery, Highway 29 in Troy, with Dillard Funeral Home of Troy directing.

Survivors include parents, Jimmy and Marie Carnley of Troy; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Jennifer and Steve Garrett of Brundidge and Tonya and Cliff Davis of Troy; niece, Jensen Garrett of Brundidge; grandparents, Travis and Rosa Bell Carnley of Troy; one great aunt; several aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, James and Mary Messick.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of the ninth grade class of Pike County High School and all other schoolmates.

Visitation will be 5-8 p.m., Wednesday at Dillard Funeral Home in Troy.
