TSU cross-country competes in Auburn Invitational

Auburn, Ala. – Both the Men and Women’s teams competed this week at the Auburn Invitational.

The University of Alabama won the men’s event with a score of 74. Baylor finished 2nd, Texas A&M 3rd, Florida State 4th and Tennessee rounded out the top five. Baylor won the women’s event with a score of 83. Florida State’s women finished 2nd. Wichita State, Auburn, and Belmont rounded out the top five.

Troy State’s men team finished 17th overall ahead of Conference foe Georgia State who finished 25th overall. The men’s meet was comprised of 31 teams and 253 runners. The top runner for the Trojans was Freshman Chris Batista who finished 69th with a time of 26:10 for the 8K course. Freshman Liam Barton finished with a time of 27:00 (115th). Sophomore Linus Wilson finished with a time of 29:29 in his first collegiate race.

Troy State’s women finished in 17th with a score of 484. The top runner for the Lady Trojan’s was Freshman Lindsey Minnihan with a time of 18:30 (79th). Victoria Gill of Florida State won the women’s race with a time of 16:18.
