CHHS faces revamped Monroe offense
By KEVIN PEARCEY
Sports Editor
A surprising 4-0 start by a young Charles Henderson football team has the coaching staff and players eyeing a return to the Class 5A state playoffs.
"I tell our kids that these next two games will determine whether or not we get in the playoffs," said CHHS head coach Hugh Fountain. "And the ones after that will determine if we play at home in the first round or not. But we’ve got to come out ready to play, because the teams we have remaining in our region have the potential to play good football every Friday night."
Fountain said he and his coaches are not surprised by their team’s success so far this season.
"These kids have worked hard and they deserve to be 4-0," he said. "I believe when you work hard good things happen to you and these particular kids have worked hard."
