James Austin "Sonny" Howard Sr., 55, of Troy died Friday, Sept. 21, 2001 at his home.

Services will be at 3 p.m., Monday, Sept. 24 at Dillard Funeral Home Chapel in Troy with the Rev. Clifford Mathews officiating. Burial will be at Harmony Cemetery in Troy with Dillard Funeral Home in Troy directing.

Survivors include wife, Marie Pope Howard of Troy; daughter, Cristy Howard of Colorado, son and daughter-in-law, James Austin and Linda Howard Jr. of Troy; sisters and brother-in-law, Kathy Howard, Frances and James Mehaffey, all of Troy; brother and sister-in-law, Henry and Reba Howard of Cullman; grandchildren, Christopher Ragland, Brittany Ragland and Jud Sutley; niece, Kim (Robbie) Culver; three nephews, Henry Howard Jr., Charles (Brandy) Howard Jr. and Lewis Howard; great-nephew, Henry Dawson Culver.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jim Howard; mother, Fannie Howard; brother, Charles Howard; niece, Marsha Lynn Renfroe and nephew, Scott Anderson.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy Connell, Stark Laney, John Dillard, Jack Waller, Ron Edwards, Anthony Everage, Lewis Fannin and Benny Jinright. Honorary pallbearers will be Roy Pugh and the Troy Police Department.

Memorial contributions may be made to Wiregrass Hospice.

Visitation will be 6-9 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 23 at Dillard Funeral Home in Troy.

Roy Benton Lee

Roy Benton Lee, 76, of Troy died Saturday, Sept. 22, 2001 at his home.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 24 at Green Hills Cemetery with Minister Wyman Sanders officiating and Dillard Funeral Home of Troy directing.

Survivors include his wife, Lou Ellen Lee of Troy; a daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca and Martin Bartoli of Mobile; a brother and sister-in-law, Robert J. and Bobbie Lee of Troy; two sisters-in-law, Dot Lee and Carolyn Bellar; two brothers-in-law, Wyatt Posey and Qunicey Posey.

He was preceeded in death by his parents Fitz Hugh and Lizzie Lee, one sister, Annie Jean Lee and two brothers, Dorsey Lee and Elmer Lee.

Pallbearers will be Fitz Lee, Marshall Lee, Russell Lee, Jeff Lee, Jim Tustin and Jim Clower.

Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association.

Visitation will be held from 9:45 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. Monday, sept. 24 at Dillard Funeral Home of Troy.
