Brundidge residents will soon be able to pay their property taxes without driving to Troy.

Pike County Revenue Commissioner Curtis Blair said his office will be opening a satellite office at Brundidge Station, the nutrition center in Brundidge, on Oct. 2. He said the satellite office will be open from 8:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. each Tuesday.

"We will offer just about all the services we offer at the courthouse," Blair said.

Pike County property owners who live in the Brundidge area will be able to pay taxes or buy their mobile home sticker a bit closer to home.

"I feel like it will be a good think for the people in and around Brundidge," Blair said.

Blair said he got the idea from what other counties are doing and because of requests from citizens.

"A good many of the counties have satellite offices," Blair said. "Plus, I’ve had requests from Brundidge residents to have a satellite office there."

He said the Brundidge City Council’s help in finding a location and the Pike County Commission’s approval has made it possible to open the satellite office.

"We feel like it will be a win-win situation for everybody and will be a good service to the people of Pike County," Blair said.

The satellite office will be open during tax season October to January and will offer "most all services" of the Revenue Commission Office. Two employees will work at that location on Tuesdays.
