Charles A. Herndon

Charles A. Herndon, 70, a retired electrical engineer, died Thursday, Aug. 30, 2001 at a Fort Worth, Texas, hospital.
Services were at 10 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 1 at Crosier-Pearson-Mayfield Funeral Home Chapel in Cleburne, Texas. Burial was at Rose Hill Cemetery in Cleburne with the Rev. Jerry Clements officiating. Pallbearers were: Robert Smith, Arthur Smith, Todd Morgan, Danny Broyles, Larry Cole and Bob Nunnelee.
Visitation was 6-8 p.m., Friday, Aug. 31 at the funeral home.
Herndon was born in Pike County on Nov. 6, 1930. He worked for Lockheed (GD) for 37 years.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dell Smith Herndon.
Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Sue Ann and Bob Drapiza; two grandsons, Marcos Herndon and Brendon Herndon, all of Cleburne; sisters and brothers-in-law, Joanne and Bob Nunnelee and Kitty and Burt Fowler, all of Alabama; brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Pat Herndon of North Carolina; several nieces and nephews.
