James Peter McLendon, 42, of Tuskegee, formerly of Brundidge, died July 31, 2001.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 3 at Bell’s Liptrot/Dawson Funeral home with the Rev. Tim Silmon officiating. Burial will be held in the Community Cemetery with Bell’s Liptrot/Dawson Funeral Home directing.
Etta Mae Sistrump-Jackson
Etta Mae Sistrump-Jackson, 83, of Troy died July 30, 3001 at Edge Regional Medical Center.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 4 at Lily White Holiness Church in the White Water Community with Minister Rodney Boyd officiating. Burial will be held at Elam Baptist Church Cemetery in Spring Hill with Harrison Funeral Home directing.
Ms. Sistrump-Jackson was born July 30, 1918 in Houston, Texas to the late Clemment and Mittie B. Sistrump. She was a member of the Church of Jesus and Deliverance.
She leaves to cherish her memories 12 children, Margaret Stringer (Lamon Sr., deceased), Rayford Jackson, Marie Simmons (Homer Sr.), Lee Ella Jackson, Tommy Lee Jackson, all of Troy, Willie J. Jackson (Faye) of Defuniak Springs, Fla., James Jackson (Ola Mae) of Brundidge; Abdul Raheem Sabree (Diane) of Montgomery, Carl C. Jackson of Georgia, Jimmy D. Jackson (Alisha) of Elba, Willie C. Jackson, Willie Ree Jackson(Jessie) of Ft. Walton Beach; one step-daughter, Jessie Mae of New York; one step-son, Buddy of Troy; one sister, Ruby J. Carson (Freddie Sr.) of Ft. Walton Beach; one brother, Clemment Brantley (Rosie Lee) of Goshen; 44 grandchildren, 49 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Roosevelt Jackson, one brother and one sister, John Henry Smith and Lee Ray Jackson.
Pallbearers will be grandsons and floralbearers will be granddaughters.
Visitation will be held from noon until 6 p.m. Friday, Aug. 3 and the body will lie-in-state one hour prior to the service (noon-1 p.m.) Saturday, Aug. 4.
Minnie E. Hargrove
Minnie E. Hargrove, 94, of Troy died Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2001 at Pike Manor Health Care Center in Troy.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 3 at Danielsville Baptist Church Cemetery in Honoraville with the Rev. Harry Driggers officiating and Skeen Funeral Home of Troy directing.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Lanette and Bob McAllister of Birmingham, one stepdaughter and son-in-law, Kathern and Earl Skipper of Honoraville, seven grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson and several nieces and nephews.
