Faye Sovie

Faye Sovie, 84, formerly of Ogdensburg, N.Y., died Monday, July 16, 2001 at Claxton Hepburn Medical Center.

Services will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday, July 18 at Notre Dame Church with the Rev. James Shurtleff officiating and concelebrated with the Rev. Robert Gray. Burial will be in Foxwood Mausoleum with Frary Funeral Home directing.

Mrs. Sovie was born June 19, 1917 in Buena Vista, Ga. to Wisdom and Pearl Johnson Hegler. She attended local schools in Alabama. She married George Sovie on Aug. 13, 1944 in Fort Benning, Ga. She first worked at Diamond National in Ogdensburg for 15 years and, then, went to work at United Helpers, where she worked in housekeeping. She retired in 1992. She was a member of the Women of the Moose Club.

Survivors include one son, Michael, of Ogdensburg; two daughters, Mrs. Joseph (Darlene) Moore and Barbara Lomas, both of Ogdensburg; one brother, Colin Hegler of Tennessee; two sisters, Gladys Hussey and Lurline Caylor, both of Banks; three grandchildren, Dennis Tallman, Ryan Moore and Tyler Sovie; five great-grandchildren, Meagan Rae Tallman, Logan Nicole Tallman, Tristan Isiah Moore, Noah Isaac Moore and Alexandria Hope Moore.

She was preceded in death by her husband; one granddaughter, Jenna Sovie; one great-grandson, Joseph Tallman; five brothers, Alfred, George, John, Charles and Marvin Hegler; two sisters, Lila Dykes and Louise Barr.
