John Smith, 79, of Brundidge died recently at Edge Regional Medical Center.

Services will be at 2 p.m., Tuesday, July 17 at St. Paul A.M.E. Church in Brundidge with the Rev. W.D. Flowers, pastor, officiating. Burial will be at Community Cemetery in Brundidge with George F. Grubbs Funeral Home directing.

Mr. Smith was born July 3, 1923 to Mr. and Mrs. Lomore Smith of Russell County. He attended Russell County public schools. He was employed by Troy State University for several years before his retirement.

He leaves to mourn, two sons, Henry Smith of Dothan and Charlie Lee Smith of Troy; one daughter, Mary Ann Smiley of Elizabeth, N.J.; one brother, Luke Smith of Brundidge; one sister, Annie Mae Davenport of Troy; one sister-in-law, Annie Pearl Smith of Brundidge; two aunts, Candice Neal of Brundidge and Wellie Mae Warren of Hurtsboro; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Friends of the family will serve as pallbearers and floralbearers.

Mildred Louise Graves Jeffcoat

Mildred Louise Graves Jeffcoat, 83, of Goshen died Sunday, July 15, 2001 at Baptist Hospital in Montgomery.

Services will be at 11 a.m., Wednesday, July 18 at Dillard Funeral Home Chapel in Troy with the Revs. Steve Carson and Malcolm Larkin officiating. Burial will be at Wingard Cemetery with Dillard Funeral Home of Troy directing.

Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Aley Jeffcoat of Ansley; daughter and son-in-law, Anne and Herb Huner of Troy; son and daughter-in-law, Blake and Peggy Jeffcoat of Montgomery; grandchildren, Jeff Huner of Montgomery, Chris and Tracie Huner of Troy, Mike and Alisha Huner of Auburn, Stuart Jeffcoat of Atlanta, Ga., Sallye Jeffcoat of Montgomery; four great-grandsons, Seth, Cole and Jake Huner of Auburn and Brock Huner of Troy; brother and sister-in-law, Walter Clyde and Dorothy Graves of Ansley; numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter C. Graves Sr. and three sisters, Athene Miller Hurt, Lucy Mae Wilks and Mary Amy Bundrick.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy Bundrick, Alan Graves, Chris Huner, Jeff Huner, Mike Huner, Steve Wilks, Stuart Jeffcoat and Harris Wilks.

Memorial contributions may be made to Ansley Baptist Church, P.O. Box 428, Troy 36081.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. today at Dillard Funeral Home in Troy.

Samson Joffery Smith

Samson Joffery Smith, 83, of Jack died Monday, July 16, 2001 at Edge Regional Medical Center.

Services will be at 11 a.m., Tuesday, July 17 at Hayes Funeral Home Chapel in Elba with the Rev. Rick Hayes officiating. Burial will be at Zion Chapel Cemetery in Elba.

Survivors include two daughters, Betty Morris of Bonifay, Fla. and Carolyn Linzey of Troy; two sons, Charles Smith and Ronnie Smith, both of Jack; two brothers, Feazell Smith of Troy and Young Smith of Jack; 25 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
