Angels keep winning in Dothan

Troy eliminated Eufaula on Saturday night from the Dixie Angels District tournament by the final score of 5-3.

Troy was down 2-1 in the top of the third when four Troy batters combined to hit a cycle. Kasee Carter has a single, Erica Henderson a double, Jodi Long a triple and Kelli Ann Sanders capped things off with a home run. The four hits allowed Troy to take a 4-2 lead with three runs scoring in the inning.

Eufaula scored one run in the bottom of the third and its initial two runs in the first inning off of two Troy errors.

Carter added an RBI in the fifth inning to close out the game.

Long started the game on the mound for Troy and returned in the fourth inning with one out to help Troy turn a double play and get out of a bases loaded jam. Long gave up two runs on two hits and struck out four batters while walking four.

Jazmen Seymore earned the win for Troy.

Carter led Troy with a 3-for-3 performance at the plate. Sanders and Henderson each had a hit.

Alexis Brown, Samantha Crouch, and Crystal Nolin had one hit each for Eufaula.

Troy played Enterprise on Monday night in Dothan.
