Money feels his team has as good a chance as any other of returning to Troy with a sub-district championship.

"We’ve got some good athletes on the team and if our pitching can come through we should be able to hang with anyone," he said. "A lot of the kids on our team have varsity experience, but we’re also pretty young."

John Money, Marcus Jones and Matt Floyd are the three 18 year olds on the 16 player roster. Floyd was one of Pike Liberal Arts’ best pitchers during the regular varsity baseball season.

The youngest players on the team are Chris Nickson, Elijah Daniel, Patrice Brooks and Chris Bell, all age 15. Nickson, Daniel, and Bell played varsity baseball at Pike County during the spring. Troy has just two 17 year olds on the team in Sam Osborne and Kelvin Tolver, but are loaded with 16 year old players. Adam Helms, Brandon Hooks, Brandon Hughes, Wes Johnson, Scott Kirby, Jay Money and Thomas Price, all age 16 , round, out the team.

Hooks, Kirby, and Johnson also played varsity baseball at PLAS, while Hughes played for Goshen.
