Pugh Brown Starling, 82, of Troy died Wednesday, June 13, 2001 at his home.

Services will be at 3 p.m., Friday, June 15 at Dillard Funeral Home Chapel in Troy with the Revs. Ken May and Rick Hayes officiating. Burial will be at Green Hills Memorial Park in Troy with Dillard Funeral Home in Troy directing.

Mr. Starling was an employee, manager and owner of The Corner grocery store over a period of about 60 years. He was a member and former deacon of Southside Baptist Church in Troy.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Mrs. Ruth Jeffcoat Starling; two children and their spouses, Ann and Wendell Sanders of Enterprise and Jarel and Sherry Starling of Huntsville; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Sidney Starling of Troy, Shelby Starling of Anniston, Annie Claire McDonald of Ft. Worth, Texas and Edwin Starling of Concord, Calif.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jarel and Clara Starling.

Memorial contributions may be made to Wiregrass Hospice or the American Cancer Society.

Pallbearers will be Brian Beasley, Brian McLeod, Todd Sanders, Woody Sanders, Buddy Starling and David Starling. Honorary pallbearers will be Men’s Five Sunday School class at Southside Baptist Church and employees of Wiregrass Hospice.

Fred N. Jordan

Fred N. Jordan, 56, of Troy died Wednesday, June 13, 2001 at his home.

Services will be at 2 p.m., Saturday, June 16 at Dillard Funeral Home Chapel in Troy with the Rev. Royce Richards officiating. Burial will be at Bethel Cemetery in Banks with Dillard Funeral Home of Troy directing.

Survivors include three sons, Freddy Wayne Jordan of Kentucky, Buster Ray Jordan and Jerry Michael Jordan, both of Troy; six grandchildren; two brothers, Chester "Buck" Jordan and Bobby Joe Jordan, both of Troy; sisters, Nancy Miller of Ft. Deposit and Frances Rodgers of Goshen; several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. today at Dillard Funeral Home in Troy.
