Lizzie Ethel Ming Harden

Lizzie Ethel Ming Harden, 92, of Opelika died Monday, June 11, 2001 at her residence.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. C.D.T. at Enon Cemetery in Enon with the Rev. Earl Oakes officiating, Striffler-Hamby Mortuary in Phenix City directing.

Mrs. Harden was born March 7, 1909 in Pike County to the late Delia Wesley Sheppard and W.H. "Bill" Sheppard. She had been a resident of Opelika for 50 years and retired from Rock City Packaging Co.

Survivors include one daughter, Ruth Harden of Phenix City; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; special friend, Perry Dease of Opelika, who was a friend to Hank Williams.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, J.D. Ming; second husband, Henry Harden; son, Melvin Ming and son-in-law, Edgar Harden.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. today at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary in Phenix City.
