After finishing its most successful season at the Division I level, the Troy State men’s basketball program added another signee to its 2001 recruiting class with the signing of Ben Fletcher.

Fletcher signs with Troy State after spending the past two seasons at Enterprise State Junior College. Fletcher averaged 25.5 points per game at the two guard for the Boil Weevils this past season.

Fletcher will join his cousin and junior college teammate Marcus Millhouse on the hardcourt for the Trojans next season. Millhouse signed with Troy State during the fall period.

"We’re looking at Ben to replace Matt Holman at the two guard next season," said Troy State head coach Don Maestri. "He is an outstanding individual and we expect him to come in and be a leader. Hopefully he can give us a scoring threat to complement Robert Rushing and Lemayn Wilson."

The Trojans finished last season with a 19-12 record and advanced to the Trans America Athletic Conference championship, before falling to Georgia State. The 19 wins was the most the Trojans have amassed since moving to Division I in 1993.
