Staff Report

Spring Fever has hit students in area schools and Charles Henderson Middle School has found the way to combat the problem.

On Thursday, students and faculty will hold a Spring Blast at the school’s football field from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

The event is a carnival-type atmosphere with events all over the stadium, including the following: dunking booth, silent auction, bake sale, hat/t-shirt walk, cake walk, Karaoke, basketball shoot, football throw, field goal kick, soccer kick and photos with friends.

Those in attendance will also have the chance to win a bicycle, metal detector and other prizes.

Members of the CHMS bands will perform during the event, as well.

But, perhaps the big draw will be the Faculty vs CHMS team soccer game. While members of the faculty are anticipating a win, team members are predicting they will be the victors.

The WTBF and Pepsi wagons will be on campus, as well as other concessions with pizza, hot dogs, cotton candy, popcorn, cokes, and candy.

In addition to being a way to release some of that energy that comes with the warmer temperatures, Spring Blast is a way for the P.T.O. to reward students for their hard work in preparing for the Stanford Achievement Test, which is being taken this week.
