Gustavia Phillips Green, 82, of Clio died Sunday, April 8, 2001 at her residence.

Services will be at 2 p.m., Tuesday, April 10 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with the Revs. Curtis RIch and Randy Adams officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Louisville with Dillard Funeral Home of Brundidge directing.

Survivors include three daughters, Dimple Powell and Olivia Thomas, both of Clio, and Blanch Sutton of Brundidge; three sons, Charlie Green of Clio, James Green and Lavon Green, both of Ahoskie, N.C.; 16 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren and sister, Stell Welch of Monticello, Fla.

She was preceded in death by her husband, three daughters and two sons.

Pallbearers will be Brandon Adams, Billy Green, Donnie Green, Michael Green, Tony Green and Sam Powell. Gene Phillips and Bobby Powell will be honorary pallbearers.

James Eli Brown

James Eli Brown, 74, of Troy died Saturday, April 7, 2001 at Baptist Medical Center.

Services were held at 2:30 p.m., Monday, April 9 at Dillard Funeral Home Chapel in Troy with Dr. Steve Bailey officiating. Burial was at Ramah Cemetery in Josie with Dillard Funeral Home of Troy directing.

Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Jean Jernigan Brown of Troy; daughter and son-in-law, Brenda Brown and Jerry Marcum of Troy; three sons and two daughters-in-law, James Edward and Bonnie S. Brown of Troy, Randall G. and Dianne S. Brown of Montgomery and Ray Brown of Montgomery; grandchildren and their spouses, Shaylese Marcum, Jessica Brown and Shane Tatum, Amanda Leigh Brown, Shayne and Michell Brown, John Eli Brown, Stephen Marcum, Jeffrey Brown and Nathan Brown; great-grandchildren, Madison Brown, Weston Brown and Bryce Tatum; two sisters, Betha May McLendon of Troy and Mary Lou Trawick of Josie.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John Henry and Mozel Brown.

Pallbearers will be Shayne Brown, Jeffrey Brown, Richard Thompson, Larry Henderson, Larry Ross, Benny Jinright and Ray Jordan. Honorary pallbearers will be representatives of the Banks Volunteer Fire Department, Troy Fire and Police Departments and Pike County Fire Fighters Association.

Ethel L. Davis

Ethel L. Davis of Brundidge died Saturday, April 7, 2001. Funeral services and survivors will be announced by Bell’s Liptrot/Dawson Funeral Home.

Lillie Florence Daniels

Lillie Florence Daniels, 80, of Troy died Thursday, April 5, 2001 at Edge Regional Medical Center.

Services will be at 1 p.m., Tuesday, April 10 at Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Troy with Dr. L.C. McMillian officiating. Burial will be at Carroll Street Cemetery in Troy with George F. Grubbs Funeral Home directing.

Mrs. Daniels was born March 5, 1921 in Pike County to Roxie Ann Siler Grimes and George Brown. She was a member of Bethel Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include daughters, Alicia Whatley, Commie Whatley Carter, Annette Grimes Whatley, Mary Carlisle O’Donnell and Judy Grimes Hampton; adopted sister, Mary Elizabeth Grimes; grandsons, Jared Carter, Gerrod Whatley, Terrence Carter, Kevin Whatley and his wife, Nichole, Derrick Hampton, Michael Carter; great-grandchildren, Terrence Leron Carter, Malik Arkel Whatley, Zalika Kamala, Roxie Whatley, haley Alicia Carter and Michaela Nichelle Carter; nieces, Cassandra Grimes Kelly and Francine Flowers Miller; a host of cousins, great-nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

Grandsons and friends will serve as pallbearers. Neighbors and friends will serve as floralbearers.
