Rountree, Brittany Carlisle, Laura Wesley, Kelly Miller and Andrea Ellis each scored one run while Howard and Carlisle each scored twice.
In the top of the second, the Lady Eagles had a good chance to get back into the game with runners on second and third with only one out. However, Howard was able to get out of the jam The Lady Trojans continued to pour it on in the bottom of the second scoring a pair of runs on a two RBI single by Emily Watkins. The CHHS bench contributed once again in the bottom of the third when Natalie Patterson delivered a two RBI single in the bottom of the third.
However, the highlight of the afternoon took place earlier in the inning as Rountree slammed a wind aided home run over the center field fence to score two runs.
In the top of the fourth, the Lady Eagles (1-6) prevented a shutout by scoring two runs with the help from their bench. After Candi Faulkner led the inning off with a walk, she advanced to third on a pair of wild pitches. Following a Megan Johnson walk, Christy Ricks delivered an RBI single and Mandy Kilpatrick got an RBI ground out to end the scoring. The Lady Eagles were limited to just two base hits on the afternoon.
