Essie B. Dykes, 91, of Troy died Monday, March 19, 2001 at Edge Regional Medical Center.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 21 at the chapel of Skeen Funeral Home of Troy with Minister Jeff May and the Rev. Ken May officiating. Burial will follow at Ramah Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery with Skeen Funeral Home of Troy directing.

Survivors include, one son and daughter-in-law, Billy and Ruth Henderson of Troy; three grandchildren, Susan and Jeff May of Gardendale, Gena Henderson of Murphreesboro, Tenn., and John and Ashlee Henderson of Troy; two great-grandchildren, Bethany and Henderson May of Gardendale.

Mrs. Henderson was preceded in death by her husband, John Arbie Henderson.

Pallbearers will be John Henderson, John Delony, Jim McPherson, Joe Harrison, Roy Mann and Dill Dykes. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Michael Gordon, Dr. Ely Gordon and Dr. J.C. Brantley.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to one’s favorite charity.

Visitation will be held from 1-2 p.m. today at Skeen Funeral Home of Troy.

Mrs. Maudie Adams Thrash Langston

Mrs. Maudie Adams Thrash Langston, 97, of Banks, died Tuesday, March 20, 2001 at Muscogee Manor in Columbus, Ga.

Services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, March 22 at Bethel Baptist Church with the Rev. Max Kelly officiating. Burial will follow at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery in Banks with Dillard Funeral Home of Brundidge directing.

Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Mildred and John Harden of Columbus and Katherine and George Ingram of Banks; two sons and daughters-in-law, Cecil and Sue Langston of Dadeville and Dewight and Becky Langston of Fortson, Ga.; 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Langston was preceded in death by her husband, Isaac Dewey Langston, and sons, Lamar Merrill Langston and Ralph Wyman Langston.

Mrs. Langston was born in Pike County on July 21, 1903. She was the daughter of James and Ada Gertrude Barnes Thrash.

Pallbearers will be Kenneth Harden, Tracy Hurst, Steve Ingram, Mike Langston, Wayne Langston and Wyman Langston.

Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. today at Dillard Funeral Home of Brundidge.

Jessie Mae Whittenton Bundrick

Jessie Mae Whittenton Bundrick, 91, of Goshen, died Tuesday, March 20, 2001 at Edge Regional Medical Center.

Services will be held at 4:15 p.m. Thursday, March 22 at Shady Grove Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Shady Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Brundidge with Dillard Funeral Home of Brundidge directing.

Survivors include a daughter, Ella Lou Botts of Troy; a son and daughter-in-law, Malcolm and Drucie Bundrick or Banks; grandchildren, Pat Stewart, Kay Reeder, Shelia Rotton, Juli Parrish, Lou Anne McCall, Loren Botts, Missy Diggs and Jan Nall; great-grandchildren, Shay Johnson, Alicia Diggs, Chris Stewart, Jenny Harris, Christopher Diggs, John Randall Rotton, Tyler Rotton, Mallorie McCall, Samuel Andrew McCall and Jason Johnson; great-great-grandchildren, Nina Harris and Richard Harris; sisters-in-law, Varnie, Bertha, Myrtle and Dollie Bundrick.

Pallbearers will be deacons of Shady Grove Baptist Church.

Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. today at Dillard Funeral Home of Brundidge.

Katie Hull Thompson

Katie Hull Thompson, 73, of Grady, died Tuesday, March 20, 2001 at her home.

Services will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 21 at Dillard Funeral Home Chapel in Troy with the Rev. David Kirby officiating. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 22 at Hope Methodist Cemetery near Philadelphia, Miss., with Dillard Funeral Home of Troy directing.

Survivors include two daughters, Alice Sanders Castleberry of Grady and Evelyn (Charlie) Sanders Shelton of Woodstock, Ga.; a granddaughter, Tanya (Roy) Morgan of Kapolei, Hawaii; grandsons, Greg Shelton and Brent Shelton, both of Woodstock, Ga.; three brothers, Sam J. Hull of Dekalb, Miss., Calvin Maxwell Hull of Columbus, Miss., and Railey Hull of Philadelphia, Miss.; six great-grandchildren, Shelby Morgan, Paige Shelton, James Duncan, Austin Morgan, Tanner and Chandler Shelton.

Memorial contributions may be made to Baptist Hospice or Shady Grove Methodist Church.

Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. today at Dillard Funeral Home in Troy.
