Grover O. Johnston, 88, of Troy died Sunday, March 11, 2001 at a Birmingham hospital.

Services will be at 2 p.m., Tuesday, March 13 at Dillard Funeral Home Chapel in Troy with Dr. Mallone Chandler and the Rev. Royce Richards officiating. Burial will be at Green Hills Cemetery with Dillard Funeral Home of Troy directing.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Ralph and Sarah Johnston of Birmingham, Lawrence and Margaret Johnston of Denton, Texas; daughter-in-law, Linda Johnston of Frisco, Texas; two sisters, Gladys Williams of Alex City and Ann Poss of Macon; brother and sister-in-law, Joe and Christine Johnston of Alex City; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Pearlie Lee Johnston and a son, John Johnston.

Memorials may be made to the Pike County Gideons or the Pine Level Baptist Church Choir Fund.

Pallbearers will be Rex Grimsley, Billy Carroll, Robert Newman, Steve Campbell, Jason Johnston, Richard Johnston and David Johnston.

Lynne Wilson Peacock

Lynne Wilson Peacock, 89, of Luverne died Monday, March 12, 2001 at Luverne Nursing Facility.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday, March 14 at Green Hills Memorial Park in Troy with the Rev. Mack Lowery officiating, Dillard Funeral Home of Troy directing.

Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Ann and Donald Kelley of Troy; two grandsons, Ken and Keith Kelley and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two husbands, Rufus P. Wilson and Henry A. Peacock.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.

Pallbearers will be Chance Kelley, Jacob Kelley, Josh Kelley, Keith Kelley, Ken Kelley, Densby Lowery adn Ira Thompson.

Visitation will be 1-1:45 p.m., Wednesday at Dillard Funeral Home in Troy.
