Carlisle strikes out 15 in CHHS win

Brittany Carlisle struck out 15 batters in just six innings as the Charles Henderson High School Lady Trojans improved to 4-3 with a convincing 14-0 road victory over the Greenville High School Lady Tigers at the Beeland Park Recreation Complex Tuesday afternoon.

It was the second shutout by the Lady Trojans in consecutive days following a 2-3 start. CHHS shutout Carver-Montgomery 10-0 Monday afternoon at the Troy SportsPlex.

Carlisle gave up only two hits, walked four and hit a pair of batters as she faced just five batters above the minimum.

Offensively, Andrea Ellis led the Lady Trojans going 2-for-4, scoring three runs and stealing two bases, while Elizabeth Rountree went 1-for-2 and drove in a pair of runs for the Lady Trojans. Carlisle went 1-for-4 and scored two runs and Kelly Miller had two RBIs and one hit to pace CHHS.

Today’s regularly scheduled game between CHHS and Caroll at the Troy SportsPlex has been postponed due to the death of an Ozark student. The Lady Trojans resume action this Saturday morning when they travel to Ozark to participate in the Carroll High School Fast Pitch Tournament. Among the schools particpating include Goshen, Carroll and Dothan. The first CHHS game is set to begin at 9 a.m.
