A burglary and robbery early Saturday morning was wrapped up when two Troy men were arrested by the Troy Police Department.

According to information released by Chief Anthony Everage of the Troy Police Department, officers responded to reported burglary of a residence on Mobley Drive in Troy at 3:27 a.m. Feb. 24.

"Officers were dispatched to a 911 call where the victim advised that a suspect had entered the house and demanded money from the victim," Everage said. "The residence was occupied by the victim and the victim’s mother when the incident occurred."

The suspect took an undisclosed amount of money and fled the residence, Everage said.

According to reports, the Troy Police Department had received information earlier about a suspicious vehicle in another neighborhood and was attempting to locate the vehicle.

"While in route to the Mobley Drive incident, Patrol Officer Danny Barron spotted the suspect vehicle," Everage said. "Officer Barron stopped the suspect vehicle on South Brundidge Street and recovered evidence believed to be linked with the incident on Mobley Drive, which led to the arrest of the alleged perpetrators."

Timothy J. Porter, 36, and Steven Coleman, 30, both of Troy, were arrested by the Troy Police Department. Porter is being charged with one count of burglary first degree and one count of robbery, first degree. He is being held in the Pike County Jail on a $100,000 bond. Coleman is being charged with one count of burglary, first degree. He is being held in the Pike County Jail on $50,000 bond.

"I want to commend the third shift officers for their keen awareness and quick response to this incidence, which led to the arrest of the suspects in this crime," Everage said.

The incident is still under investigation by the Troy Police Department.
