Roy F. Watson Sr.

Roy F. Watson Sr., 83, of Skipperville died Thursday, Feb. 22, 2001 at his home following an extended illness.

Services were held be at 2 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 24 at Morgan Baptist Church with the Revs. Darrell Hammonds and Pam Freeman and Chaplain Talmadege Butler officiating. Burial was at Bersheba Cemetery with Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing.

Mr. Watson was a native of Skipperville and was retired from civil service at Fort Rucker, following 30 years of service. He was a member of Clinton Masonic Lodge #287, Skipperville, and Morgan Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth Welch Watson of Skipperville; one daughter and son-in-law, Virginia and Davis Payne of Skipperville; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Roy Franklin Watson Jr. of Atlanta, Ga. and Jimmy Earl and Regina Watson of Skipperville; seven grandchildren and their spouses: Kimberly Payne and Bill Leverette of Greensboro, N.C., Karla Payne and Max Watkins of New Brockton, Bridget and Chris Yeater of Midland City, April Watson of Atlanta, Robin Watson of Geneva, Jimmy Heath and Rhonda Watson of Skipperville and Heather Watson of Ozark; niece, Linda Hughes Paramore of Skipperville and 10 great-grandchildren.

Roy Mitchell

Roy Mitchell, 72, of Troy died Thursday, Feb. 22, 2001 at his home.

Services will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 24 at Dillard Funeral Home Chapel in Troy with the Revs. Martha Baxter and Rick Harden officiating. Burial will be at Mossy Grove Cemetery in Troy with Dillard Funeral Home of Troy directing.

Survivors include his wife, Eula Legg Mitchell of Troy; daughter, Sherry Mitchell of Marietta, Ga.; two sisters, Wilma Rogers of Troy and Hazel Brown of Marietta; twin brother, Foy Mitchell of Troy; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.M. Mitchell and brother, Melvin Mitchell of Troy.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Mossy Grove Cemetery Fund or the American Heart Association.

Betty Florine Greene

Betty Florine Greene, 73, of Troy died Thursday, Feb. 22, 2001 in Birmingham.

Services will be at 3 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 25 at Northside Baptist Church in Troy with the Rev. Clifford Mathews officiating. Burial will be at Sandfield Cemetery in the Sandfield Community with Dillard Funeral Home of Troy directing.

Survivors include two daughters, Carolyn Ann Williams of Columbus, Ga. and Lori Grace Cote of Lafayette, La.; two sons, James Beldon and Steven H. Greene, both of Wetumpka; sister, Trudy Findley of Phenix City; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Howard Greene and daughter, Beverly Denise McAllister.

J.T. Smith

J.T. Smith, 86, of Troy died Friday, Feb. 23, 2001 at Edge Regional Medical Center. Arrangements will be announced later by Dillard Funeral Home Inc.
