Five members of this year’s Troy State men’s basketball team will play their final game at Trojan Arena on Saturday night when the Trojans play host to archrival Jacksonville State.
Derrick Davis, Brad Grant, Matt Holman, Jacova Jenkins and Brian O’Mara have all played important roles in the team’s tremendous second-half run this season. Now, they will have one final shot at glory in front of the Troy State faithful.
Grant is the team’s lone four-year player, having arrived at Troy State as a freshmen in the fall of 1996. Jenkins and O’Mara transferred to Troy State after outstanding junior college careers. Davis joined the team this season after transferring from Arizona State.
Davis and Jenkins are starters.
"We hope our fans will come out and show some appreciation for these young men and what they have meant to our program," Maestri said. "It will be a special night for them, and their last chance to play in front of a great Troy State crowd."
Tipoff for the regular-season finale is set for 8 p.m. Tickets are $5 for reserved seating and $3 for general admission. Each senior will be honored prior to tipoff.
