U.S. Sen. Richard Shelby, R-Ala., will address residents of Pike County at a meeting on Feb. 22 at 12:30 p.m. at the Hawkins Adams Long Hall of Honor on the Troy State University campus in Troy.

Shelby will discuss his legislative activities and agenda for the upcoming 107th Congress.

Following his remarks, Shelby will open the floor to questions and comments from those in attendance.

"I welcome this chance to spend time with area residents," Shelby said of his stop in Troy. "Over the years, these meetings have provided an excellent way to meet with constituents from throughout the state. They are a great opportunity for an open discussion of the issues which currently face Alabama and the country."

Shelby has conducted county-wide meetings in each of Alabama’s 67 counties at least once a year since being elected to the United States Senate. This year will mark Shelby’s 1,000th meeting.
