Vonnie Lee Flowers, 92, of Brundidge died Friday, Jan. 12, 2001 at her home.

Services will be at 2 p.m., today at Hamilton Crossroads Church of Christ with Minister Doug Williams and the Rev. Mack King officiating. Burial will be at Hamilton Crossroads Church of Christ Cemetery in Brundidge with Dillard Funeral Home of Brundidge directing.

There will be a 30-minute lie-in-state prior to the service.

Pallbearers will be Golden Carter, Tom Donn, Jim Fleming, jamie Hurd, Larry Shiver and Mike Wilson.

Mrs. Flowers was preceded in death by her husband, Joe. T. Flowers; son, James H. Flowers; granddaughter, Jamelle Wilson; son-in-law, Jim M. Wilson and brother, Woodrow Shiver.

Survivors include one daughter, Louise F. Wilson of Brundidge; grandchildren: Jamie and Glenda Wilson of Auburn, Pam and Kenneth Sessions of Troy; great-grandchildren, David and Heather Franklin of Auburn, Jamie and Brandy Sessions of Troy; daughter-in-law, Margaret Flowers of Troy; sister, Evelyn Dickey of Brundidge; brother, Hubbert Shiver of Brundidge.

Fannie Mae Parker

Fannie Mae Parker, 63, of Patterson New Jersey, formerly of Troy, died Monday, Jan, 8, 2001 at St. Joseph Hospital in Patterson, N.J., after an extended illness.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 14, 2001 at George F. Grubbs Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Carl Hollis officiating. Burial will be held at Community Cemetery in Brundidge with George F. Grubbs Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include a son, Jerome Parker of Patterson, N.J.; two sisters, Sondra Martin and Clara Wright of West Palm Beach, Fla.; seven brothers, Oscar L. Sr., Oscar L. Jr., Alex, Kimberly and Jo Jo Williams, all of Miami, Fla., and Lewis Patterson of Valdosta, Ga.; one daughter-in-law, Beverly Parker of Patterson; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild; four aunts, Mae Frye of Patterson, Mary (John) Fielder, Willie Merle and Dozetta Tyner, all of Troy; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Parker was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Williams, her husband, Ledell Parker, and one son, Andrew C. Parker.

Mrs. Parker was born Dec. 31, 1937 to the late Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Williams in Pike County. She graduated from the public schools in Pike County and was a member of the Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church until she relocated to Patterson. She was married to the late Ledell Parker.

Pallbearers and floralbearers will be cousins and friends.

Carolyn Ward Thompson

Carolyn Ward Thompson, 72, of Springhill died Friday, Jan. 12, 2001 at her home.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 14, 2001 the chapel of Dillard Funeral Home of Troy with the Revs. John Stone and Neal Jackson officiating. Burial will follow at Springhill Cemetery with Dillard Funeral Home of Troy officiating.

Survivors include her husband, William Key Thompson Sr. of Springhill; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Bill and Ruth Thompson and Steve Thompson, all of Troy; grandchildren Michael and Sarah Thompson and Melissa Thompson; stepmother, Myra Ward Bledsoe of Greenville; a sister, Myra Lou and Frank Thigpen of Greenville; a brother, Bill and Nita Ward of Greenville; two sisters-in-law, Barbara Thompson of Ozark, and Sue Thompson of Tupelo.

Pallbearers will be Pat Anderson, Tip Boutwell, James Grissette, Charles Lowery, James Mitchell, Ronnie Rainey and Ira Thompson.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Springhill Cemetery Fund of the American Cancer Society.
