Gertrude Dickens Harrison, 88, of Holly Hill, Fla. died Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2001 at Pike Manor Health Care Center.
Services will be at 2 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 7, 2001 at First United Methodist Church of Daytona Beach, Fla. with the Rev. Cherie Chapman officiating. Burial will be at Colusia Memorial Park in Ormand Beach, Fla. with Dillard Funeral Home of Troy directing.
Mrs. Harrison was born and raised in Brundidge. She attended Troy Normal College and the University of Alabama. She was a retired public school teacher, having taught school in Houston County and North Ridgewood Elementary in Volusia County, Fla.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William D. Harrison; brother, Franklin Dickens; sister, Annette Dickens Tillery; father, James Benjamin "Mance" Dickens and mother, Bertha Warrick Dickens.
Survivors include two sisters, Barnette Dickens Pope of Greensboro, N.C. and Mary Dickens Crawley of Banks; step-children, Pat Harrison Taylor of Byhalia, Miss. and David Harrison of Paso Robles, Calif.
