Mattie C. Dease Poole

Mattie C. Dease Poole, 84, of Troy died Sunday, Dec. 24, 2000 at her home.
Services will be at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2000 at Zebulon Baptist Church with the Revs. Wayne Locklar and Earl Oaks officiating. Burial will be at Sandfield Cemetery in the Sandfield Community with Dillard Funeral Home of Troy directing.
Pallbearers will be Bryant Davis, Bobby Davis, Billy Davis, Willie Culpepper, Earl Culpepper and Clinton Green. Honorary pallbearers will be Donnie Dorrill and Dr. Todd Pearlstein.
She was preceded in death by two husbands, Harmon Dease and L.G. Poole; two daughters, Margaret Dorrill and Laura Jean Adams.
Survivors include her daughter, Irene Starling of Troy; son-in-law, Max Adams of Troy; six grandchildren: Joyce Cobb, Bryant Davis, Bobby Davis, Billy Davis, Pattie Kline and Donnie Dorrill, all of Brundidge; nine great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Mary Cross
Mary Cross, 70, of Chipley, Fla. died Sunday, Dec. 24, 2000.
Services will be at 1 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 28, 2000 at Brown Funeral Home Chapel in Chipley. Burial will be at Bonifay Cemetery in Bonifay, Fla.
Survivors include her daughter Donna Boutwell Thrash.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 27 at Brown Funeral Home in Chipley.
William Horace Tew
William Horace Tew, 79, of Brundidge died Saturday, Dec. 23, 2000 at his home.
Services were held at 3 p.m., Monday, Dec. 25, 2000 at Springfield Baptist Church with the Rev. John Emfinger officiating. Burial was at Springfield Baptist Church Cemetery with Skeen Funeral Home of Brundidge directing.
He was preceded in death by his father, Brady H. Tew; mother, Sarah Tew and two brothers, Morris Tew and Roy Tew.
Survivors include his wife, Annie Ruth Tew of Brundidge; one daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Randy Wells of Ozark; one granddaughter, Becca Wells of Ozark; two step-grandsons, Russ and Chris; one son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Bobby L. Tew of Brundidge; two grandsons, Jarrad and Brady Tew of Brundidge; one sister, Beatrice Goodson of Brundidge; two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Morris Tew and Mrs. Roy Tew; four nephews and two nieces.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Springfield Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
Shirley Faye Liles
Shirley Faye Liles, 57, of LaFayette, formerly of Pisgah, died Thursday, Dec. 22, 2000 at Martin Army Community Hospital at Fort Benning, Ga.
Services were held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2000 at Kerby Funeral Home Chapel in Henagar with the Rev. Larry Gray officiating. Burial was at Pisgah Cemetery with Kerby Funeral Home of Henagar directing.
Mrs. Liles was born in Pisgah and was a graduate of Pisgah High School. She was a member of Harmony Baptist Church of Troy.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Roy and Nancy Catherine (Sartin) Ferguson.
Survivors include her husband, Donald Earl Liles of Scottsboro; son and daughter-in-law, Clifford Eugene and Jennifer Liles of Waverly, N.Y.; daughter, Karmen Liles of LaFayette; brothers, James Robert Ferguson and Herman Lester Ferguson, both of Flat Rock; sisters, Mattie Ferguson of Rossville, Ga. and Gail Bolt of Valparaiso, Ind.; several nieces and nephews.
