Bessie McGill Sheffield

Bessie McGill Sheffield, 90, of Brundidge, died Sunday, Dec. 10, 2000 at the Ozark Rehabilitation Center.

Her funeral will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2000, at St. John Baptist Church with the Revs. W.O. Sanders and John D. Reese officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Dillard Funeral Home of Brundidge is handling arrangements.

Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Charlotte and Darrell Lee of Ahoskie, N.C., Sabra and Hardy Hudson of Phenix City, and Brenda and Carlton Holbrook of Ozark.; five grandchildren, Darrick and Del Lee, Michelle Thomason, Melisa McGinnis, and Lance Holbrook; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Delmer Sheffield.

There will be a one-hour lie-in-state prior to service.

Alfred Fayson

Alfred Fayson, 87, of Pike Manor, died Thursday, Dec. 7, 2000, at Edge Regional Medical Center.

His funeral will be held at 1 p.m. today at Riverview Baptist Church with Elder Willie L. Brandley officiating. Harrison Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

Survivors include one brother, Fred Fayson of Seattle, Wash.; a daughter-in-law, Katherine Fayson of Troy; five granddaughters, Gloria (Willie) Brantley and Kathy F. White, all of Troy, Camille (Fred) Dix of Evanston, Ill., Shelia (Kevin) Jackson of Troy; three grandsons, Willie (Althea) Fayson, and Daron (Brenda) Fayson, all of Troy, and Timothy (Felicia) Fayson of Montgomery; 24 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
