Lily M. Baker

Lily M. Baker, 90, of Dayton, Ohio, and a forme Troy resident, died Thursday, Dec. 7, 2000 at Maria Joseph Living Care Center.

Her funeral will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2000 at Mt. Hillard Baptist Church in Troy with the Rev. Charlie Sankey officiating. Burial will follow at Friendship Cemetery in Troy. George F. Grubbs Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

Survivors include a daughter, Julia Baker; two sons and a daughter-in-law, John Hayward and Lamon and Crysta Baker, all of Dayton; a step-son, Fred Baker of Birmingham; a sister, Ada McCullough of Troy, a brother, Joe D. Ward, of Birmingham; a former daughter-in-law, Dorothy Baker of Dayton; 17 grandchildren; and a host of great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Baker was a member of Mt. Hillard Baptist Church.

Martin Luthur Bowden

Martin Luthur Bowden, 80, of Brundidge, died Friday, Dec. 8, 2000 at his home.

His funeral will be held at 2 p.m. today at Williams Chapel Methodist Church with the Revs. Bobby Weeks and David Stewart officiating. Burial will follow at Williams Chapel Methodist Church Cemetery in Bundidge. Dillard Funeral Home of Brundidge is handling arrangements.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy E. Bowden of the Tennillecommunity; a daughter and son-in-law, Barbara Bowden and Michael T. Davis of Wetumpka; grandsons Jacob Davis of Troy and Samuel Hamilton Davis of Wetumpka; several nieces and nephews and other close relatives.

Pallbearers include Danny Barefoot, Terrel Barefoot, Steve Carter, Harold Gibson, Rayvon Graham and Larry Barefoot.

Visitation will be held today from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. at Williams Chapel Methodist Church.
