Pike County is growing in leaps and bounds, and the Pike County Chamber of Commerce wants to recognize that growth and the people who have had a hand in that growth and progress.
To celebrate the growth of the county, the Pike County Chamber of Commerce is holding its annual Chamber Banquet, a recognition and awards banquet, at 7 p.m. Dec. 7 at the Troy Country Club.
"We are looking forward to the this year’s Chamber Banquet," said Marsha Gaylard, president of the Pike County Chamber of Commerce. "It give us, the Chamber, the opportunity to share the progress of the county with the people who have helped make the progress possible. It is also our time to say thank you, and to recognize businesses, individuals and organizations in Pike County for their support."
This year’s banquet will be different than Chamber Banquet’s in past years, said Jenniffer Barner, community development director of the Pike County Chamber of Commerce.
Instead of a guest a speaker the banquet will consist of an annual report of the chamber accomplishments. Each committee of the chamber will be recognized for their activities and successes, Barner said.
Gaylard said the Chamber Banquet has grown every year and she expects this year to be just as successful.
"Each year the turnout gets better and better," she said. "People enjoy getting together wilth friends and business associates in a social atmosphere. Last year, the Troy Country Club was packed with 175 people for the event."
Seating is limited, but there is still space available at the banquet. To make reservations for the annual Pike County Chamber of Commerce Banquet or for more information call the Chamber at 566-2294.
