Lillar Rachel Boykin, 97, a resident of Pike Manor Nursing Home, died Friday, Nov. 10, 2000 at Edge Regional Medical Center.
Services will be at 11 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 16, 2000 at Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Carl Hollis officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Olive Cemetery in Banks with George F. Grubbs Funeral Home directing.
Great-grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Leon Matthews, Rev. William Davis, Rev. Donald Bobbitt, James Spears, Redall Moore and Benjamin Shelly. Ushers and friends of Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church will serve as floralbearers.
Mrs. Boykin was born Sept. 1, 1903 in Pike County to Alice and Zack Baker. She attended Pike County public schools and was a member of Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include three daughters: Zura Lee Warren, Lou Ethel (Sylvester) Flowers, both of Ozark and Mary Pugh of Troy; son, R.D. (Louise) Boykin of Troy; sister, Johnnie Mae Warren of Troy; brother, Willie Howard Bryant of Sarasota, Fla.; four generations of grand and great-grandchildren; many other relatives and friends.
