Mary Frances Bryant

Mary Frances Bryant of Troy died Nov. 8, 2000 in Montgomery.

Graveside services were held at 2 p.m., Monday, Nov. 13, 2000 with J.H. Williams & Son directing.

Because of failing health, Mrs. Bryant moved to Selma seven years ago to live with her son and his family. Prior to that time, she resided in Troy with her husband, William T. Bryant Sr.

While in Troy, she was a faithful member of St. Paul African Methodist Episcopal Church, where she served in various church ministries. Mrs. Bryant was also an educator for 39 years, having retired from the Pike County School System.

Mrs. Bryant was preceded in death by her mother, her husband, W.T. Bryant St. of Troy and her only child, William T. Bryant Jr. of Selma.

Survivors include are daughter-in-law, L. Dale Bryant of Selma; grandson, William Tyrus Bryant III of Birmingham; niece, Patsy Bryant of Troy; brother-in-law, Andrew Bryant of Atlanta, Ga. and many caring and devoted extended family members and friends.

L.E. Bell

L.E. Bell, 72, of Brundidge died Thursday, Nov. 9, 2000 at Edge Regional Medical Center.

Services will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2000 at White Water Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Julius Kennedy officiating. Burial will be at Shady Grove Church Cemetery with Harrison Funeral Home, Inc. directing.

Pallbearers will be Dorsey Trailer employees.

Mr. Bell was born Aug. 28, 1928 in Pike County to Lee and Leona Bell. He retired from Doresy Trailer and was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church and White Water Baptist Church.

Survivors include six daughters: Emma J. Griffin, Betty J. Bell, Reta (Eddie) K. Foster, Lisa A. bell, Tonja (Keith) D. Jones and Alecia Bell, all of Brundidge.; five sisters: Lessie Butter, Carolyn Clyde of Brownwood, Ga., Ella Mae Brown of Dawson, Ga., Dealtha Shead of West Palm Beach, Fla. and Nonnie Mae Williams of Crestview, Fla.; two brothers, David Bell and Willie Bell, both of Dawson, Ga.; three sisters-in-law: Eloise Bell of Dawson, Ga., Jonnie Jones of Troy and Sadie Copeland of Brundidge; seven granddaughters: Sabrina Griffin, Kecia (Charles) Frazier, Pamela (Anthony) Glover, Kori Foster, Alexis Bell, Francessca Foster, Jasmine Bell and Khandijah Bell; one grandson, Chris Bell; three great-grandsons; two great-granddaughers; one aunt, Maggie Jackson of Troy and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be Tuesday, Nov. 14.

Elvin Lowell Arnett

Elvin Lowell Arnett, 70, of Brundidge died Saturday, Nov. 11, 2000 at his residence.

Graveside services were held at 2 p.m., Monday, Nov. 13, 2000 at Shady Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Ben Amlong officiating and Skeen Funeral Home of Brundidge directing.

Survivors include his wife, Lois Arnett of Brundidge; two sons and daughters-in-law, Lowell and Fay Arnett of Cleveland, Tenn., Tim and Dianne Arnett of Brundidge; one daughter and son-in-law, Tracy and Dennie Perkins of Brundidge; six grandsons; two great-grandsons; one great-granddaughter; brother, Melvin Arnett of Dothan; six sisters: Raynell Midkiff of Dothan, Mary Nordon of Luverne, Ruth Troglin of Meridianville, Faye Mauldin of Montgomery, Jewell Hunter and Dottie Steely of Ozark.
