Gussie Mae Williams, 61, of Troy died Saturday, Sept. 23, 2000 at UAB Hospital in Birmingham.

Services will be 3 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 28, 2000 at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Orion with the Rev. E.D. Glover officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Harrison Funeral Home directing.

Mrs. Williams was born Aug. 29, 1939 in Pike County to John Wesley Williams and Mary Ella Alloway. She attended Pike County Schools and was employed with the Troy City Board of Education. She was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Orion.

Survivors include two sons, James E. Williams and David L. Williams, both of Troy; two daughters, Lesha A. Thomas of Atlanta, Ga. and Debra A. Frazier of Troy; one brother, Joe F. Williams; five grandchildren; five aunts; three uncles; three nieces; three nephews and a host of cousins and friends.

Friends of the family will serve as pallbearers and floralbearers.

Visitation will be from noon until 6 p.m., Sept. 27 and the body will lie in state one hour prior to the service.

Jack Davis King

Jack Davis King, 77, of Troy died Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2000 at his home.

Services will be at 3 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2000 at Good Hope Baptist Church with the Revs. Wayne Locklar and W.O. Sanders officiating. Burial will be at Green Hills Memorial Park in Troy with Dillard Funeral Home of Troy directing.

Survivors include his wife, Bettie Lee King of Troy; daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth Ann and William T. Canant of Troy; two grandsons, Andrew and John Canant of Troy; brother and sister-in-law, Jimmy O. and Betty W. King of Troy; nephew and his wife, Kenny and Linda King of Troy.

Deacons of Good Hope Baptist Church will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Good Hope Baptist Church men’s Sunday school class.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

Memorial contributions may be made to Wiregrass Hospice or Good Hope Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
