James Arthur "Pie-Man" Stringer, 59, of Troy died Saturday, Aug. 26, 2000 at his residence.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2000 at Carroll Street Cemetery with the Rev. Carl Hollis officiating. Harrison Funeral Home is directing.

He was born Sept. 14, 1950 in Pike County to Susie Smith and the late Tommy Louis Smith. He attended Academy Street High School and was employed at Byrd and City Drug stores.

Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Susie Lee Smith of Troy; two sons and daughters-in-law, James and Gloria Stringer of Washington, D.C. and Steve and Michelle Stringer of Troy; two aunts, Mrs. Sara Robinson of Brundidge and Mrs. Lucille Martin of Chicago, Ill.; five grandchildren: Marian, Donta and Patricia of Troy and Amatist and Temeka of Washington, D.C.; four nephews: Michael, Richard, Tyrone and John Louis Stringer, all of Troy; a host of cousins and many friends.

He was preceded in death by one son, Robert Stringer.

Members of the class of 1959 will serve as pallbearers and floralbearers.

J.W. Law, 72, of Troy died Tuesday, Aug. 29, 2000 at his home.

Services will be at 11 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 31, 2000 at Dillard Funeral Home Chapel in Troy. Burial will be at Green Hills Memorial Park in Troy with Dillard Funeral Home of Troy directing.

Survivors include his wife, Dot Law of Troy; son, Johnny Law of Troy; brother and sister-in-law, George and Hazel Ann Law of Troy; three sisters and brothers-in-law: Margaret and Ear Whitehurst of Montgomery, Nell and Nelson Daugthtry of Greenville and brenda and Jeff Hamm of Chattanooga, Tenn.; several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Joe (Lucille) DeRamus

Mrs. Joe (Lucille) DeRamus, 92, of Troy died Sunday, Aug. 27, 2000 at her home.

Services were held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2000 at Dillard Funeral Home Chapel in Troy with the Rev. Ken May officiating. Burial was at Green Hills Memorial Park in Troy with Dillard Funeral Home of Troy directing.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe. W. DeRamus; mother, Ida Tucker Bivin and father, Benjamin Robert Bivin.

Survivors include five sons and daughters-in-law: Davey and Pat DeRamus of Bogart, Ga., Robert G. and Joan DeRamus of Huntsville, Donald W. DeRamus, Billy Joe and Linda DeRamus and James B. DeRamus, all of Troy; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Greg Burnett, Heath DeRamus, Len DeRamus, David Eades, Bryan Wade and Lane Wade. Honorary pallbearers will be the Ruth Sunday school class at Southside Baptist Church in Troy.
