SMCA throttles Tornadoes 48-0, Royal scores 4 TD’s

John Andrews completed 9 of 14 passes for 267 yards and 2 Td’s and Hunter Royal had 204 all-purpose yards scoring 4 Td’s as SMCA defeated Greenville Academy 48 to 0 Friday night in Grady.
Royal scored his first TD on a four yard run capping a 6 play drive on which
Andrews was 3 for 3 passing. Paul Ramirez kicked the PAT.
Royal scored his second TD on SMCA’s next possession this time rushing from 24 yards out.
Ramirez ran for the 2 point conversion.
Royal ‘s 3rd TD came on a 54 yard pass from Andrews finishing a 5 play 71 yard drive on which Andrews was 2 for 3 passing. The pat was no good.
Royal’s last TD came on a 39 yard interception return Ramirez’s PAT was good.

Jason Broadway fumble recovery led to last score of the first half. This time Andrews connected with Michael Paul Durden for a 29 yard TD.
Ramirez’s PAT was good giving SMCA a 35 to 0 half time lead.
Greenville again lost the ball early in the 2nd half when Paul Ramirez recovered a fumble on the 6 yard line.
Rick Hall punched it in from there giving SMCA a 42 to 0 lead.
Lee Kelly finished the scoring with a 2 yard run midway through the 3rd quarter.
SMCA compiled 459 yards (280 passing 179 rushing).
Michael Paul Durden caught 6 passes for 106 yards and one TD. Trey Houlton had 31 yards receiving and 66 yards rushing and Lee Kelly added 41 Yards rushing with one TD.
Jason Broadway, Rick Hall, Alex Long, Chip Ransom and Lee Kelly led a strong defense that held Greenville to just 83 yards rushing and no yards passing.
