The 2000 Trojan Summer Music Games, scheduled for July 27 at Troy State University’s Memorial Stadium, have been cancelled.

The need for maintenance on the stadium’s turf made it necessary to cancel the games, according to university officials.

Officials say the turf will be ready in time for the beginning of the upcoming football season, but no event can be held at the stadium until then.

Plans are in the works to hold the games again in July 2001.

Those who have already purchased tickets for the games will receive a full refund. Any questions about refunds should be directed to the box office at Troy State University Montgomery at 334-241-9567.

In addition, high school and middle school students who have registered to compete in the Trojan Summer Music Games solo performance competition will also receive full refunds.
