Detectives with the Troy Police Department are still looking into the two shootings that occurred Thursday.

The first shooting reported around 10 a.m. resulted in the death of a Troy man and a Troy woman being hospitalized.

Victims were identified as Cassandra McBride, 26 and Frankie Antonio Tellis, 23. Tellis was pronounced dead at Baptist Medical Center East in Montgomery after suffering a gunshot wound to the head.

Police officials would not comment on whether Tellis’ wound was self-inflicted.

McBride, who was shot in the chest, just under her arm, underwent surgery at Edge Regional Medical Center to remove the bullet. She was in the Intensive Care Unit Friday afternoon, but hospital officials would not release her condition.

Early information indicated McBride was shot through the door of a residence on Molton Street.

Troy Police Chief Anthony Everage called the incident "tragic" and said his department ill continue working on the case.

Sgt. Benny Scarbrough, public information officer for the TPD, said both shootings are still being investigated. There were no eyewitnesses in the morning shooting.

He said detectives are questioning subjects and potential subjects in an afternoon shooting that injured Sandy Calhoun, 49, of Troy.

Calhoun, who was at a neighbor’s residence at the time of the shooting, was struck under his left arm. It is believed the projectile was shot through a window before striking the victim.

He was treated and released from Edge Regional Medical Center.

"We don’t know where it will take us at this time, as far as charges,"

Scarbrough said of the investigation.

No arrests have been made in the case.
