A 16-year-old Pike County resident has been charged as an adult, along with his 19-year-old neighbor, in a burglary case.
Terrace Gaston, 16, and Querry Nelson, 19, both of Fitzpatrick were arrested Wednesday for a burglary that was reported on June 15.
Pike County Sheriff Russell Thomas released the names of the two individuals who are accused of burglarizing a China Grove residence. They have been charged with first-degree burglary. Their bond was set at $5,000 apiece.
It was two weeks ago that deputies responded to a call when a resident reported a burglary.
According to Thomas, the victim returned to the residence and found the front door open and approximately $1,500 worth of items missing. Among the missing items were: two shotguns, a 22-caliber semi-automatic handgun, a television, two VCRs and assorted video games.
Thomas said both Gaston and Nelson confessed to the crime and the department was able to recover all the missing property and return it to the owner.
