up league with 20-15 win

The Dixie Angel Bay Bears posted held off the Lugnuts and posted a 20-15 win to wrap up the League Championship Tuesday night.

With only two losses on the season and a 13-2 record, the Bay Bears win over the Lugnuts not only kept them in the lead but assured them of a first place finish.

They got a complete performance out of Rae Ann Boswell as she got the win on the mound for the Bay Bears after combining with Marley Hughes and Jill Jennings, and also went 5-for-5 on the night with five singles.

The Lugnuts came from behind to score five runs in their final at bat, but the Bay Bears simply had to much offense as Jessica Pearlstein went 4-for-5 and Marlie Wilkes was a perfect 3-for-3 with a triple.

Hughes had a home run, a single and three RBI’s, Jill Jennings had a homer and a single, Julie Money had a double, Kris Messica had a double and a single and Rebecca McKenzie had two singles.

The Lugnuts were led by Mindy Carter and Jessica Bohannan who each had three singles. Bohannan went 3-for-3 while Mary Glen had a double and Allison Jacobs and Alandrea McBride each had singles.

Bay Bears 16, Lookouts 5

Jennings and Boswell combined on the mound to knock off the Lookouts 16-5 Monday.

Jennings and Boswell struck out 13 Lookout batters on the night and got some big hits throughout to hold off any Lookout advance.

Jennings and Hughes each had a double and a triple, McKenzie had a pair of singles, Marlie Wilkes had a triple and Pearlstein and Money each had doubles.

The Lookouts were led by the bat of Jodi Long with a home run and triple. Whitney Sanders had a triple and Sara Sellers, Amelia Berry, J.J. Snyder and De Keira each had singles.
