Charles Robert Youngblood, 82, of Troy, died Tuesday, May 30, 2000 at his home.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, June 2, 2000 at the chapel of Dillard Funeral Home of Troy with the Rev. Ed Walter officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery with Dillard Funeral Home of Troy directing.

Survivors include his wife, Lorene McGilvary Youngblood of Troy; a daughter and son-in-law, Charlotte and Clarence "Chuck" Dawkins of Prattville; a grandson, Charles "Chuck" Dawkins of Prattville; sisters-in-law, Nina Youngblood of Bagdad, Fla., Lillian Wilkerson of Troy; five nieces, one nephew and several great nieces and nephews.

Youngblood was the former owner of Troy Variety Store and was the last living child of Maude and Cleve Youngblood. He was preceded in death by three brothers, one sister and one niece.

Pallbearers will be Bob Green, Herman Gunter, John Henderson, John Curry Key, Julius Pittman Sr., Billy Henderson, Dr. John R. Key and Paul Grissette. Honorary Pallbearers will be The Troy Domino Club.

Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. at Dillard Funeral Home in Troy.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the Building Fund at First Baptist Church of Troy.
