Fox White, Jr., 71, of Troy, died on Sunday, May 21, 2000 at his home in Troy.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, May 27, 2000, at the White Water Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Julius Kennedy officiating. Burial will follow at the White Family Cemetery with Harrison Funeral Home of Troy directing.

Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Eloise White of Troy; one son, Edward (Sarah) White of Huntsville; six daughters, Anntonette (James) Moultry and Regina (Lamont) Lampley, both of Troy, Connie Edwards, Ella White, and Undria (Kenneth) McCallum, all of Montgomery, and Jeanette (Willie) Sullivan of Mobile; 14 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; one sister, Mary Francis (Bob) Coleman, five brothers, Lyvester (Fannie) White of New York, NY, Tommy Louis (Catherine) White of Cincinnati, Oh., Thomas (Arie) White, Alex White, and Rev. Willie C. (Eva) White, all of Troy; a beloved sister-in-law, Willie Ella White; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many dear friends.

He was preceded in death by three sisters, Rosie Whaley, Ethel Mae Mitchell, and Osie Mae Lee; two brothers, Charlie White and Lkani White, one son-in-law, Dean Edwards.

He was born on October 27, 1928, in Pike County to the late Fox and Francis (Fuller) White. He was a high school graduate, attended college for three years, and retired from the United States Army, after serving 23 years. Mr. White was a carpenter and a contractor and was a member of the White Water Missionary Baptist Church, where he served as a Sunday School teacher and a deacon. He was also President of the Pike Baptist Training Union.

Pallbearers for the service will be military personnel from Fort Rucker, Ala.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 26, 2000, from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m at Harrison Funeral Home in Troy.
