Irene Beard Richburg, 88, of Troy, died Sunday, May 21, 2000, at the Pike Manor Health Care Center.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, May 23, 2000, at the chapel of Dillard Funeral Home of Troy with the Rev. Marvin Jackson officiating. Burial will follow at the Carter Cemetery with Dillard Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include one daughter, Jeanette (Wade) Johnson of Pineville, La.; two sons, Tom (Jean) Richburg of Henderson, and Billy (Becky) Richburg of Gainsville, Ga.; one daughter-in-law and husband, Sue and Paul Hoover of Henderson; 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mary Edna Shirley of Goodhope, Louise Calhoun and Hazel Pouncey, both of Troy; one brother, Roy Beard of Troy.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester W. Richburg and son, Jack Richburg.

Pallbearers for the funeral will be the grandsons.

Visitation was held on Monday, May 22, 2000 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m, at Dillard Funeral Home of Troy.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the Hopewell Cemetery Fund.

Victor Flynn Jones

Victor Flynn Jones, 46, of Mesa, Ariz., formerly of Troy, died on May 17, 2000 at his residence.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 25, 2000, at the Bethel Baptist Church with the Rev. L.C. McMillian officiating. Burial will follow at the Carroll Street Cemetery with Harrison Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include one daughter, Sha Sha Jones of Hawaii; mother, Alice M.Jones of Troy; three sisters, Octavia (Charles) Miles of Tuscaloosa, Karen (Sylvester) Gunter of Birmingham, and Veronica (John) Williamson of Santa Maria, Ca.; three brothers, Anthony (Teri) Jones of Liberty, Mo., Frank (Alyce) Jones of Fairfield, and Bernard (Mildred) Jones of Brundidge; 15 nieces and nephews; six great nieces and nephews; one uncle, Marcus McGuire of Bronx, N.Y.; one aunt, Eva Lou McGuire of Brundidge; a special friend, Jackie Hightower of Mesa, Ariz.; a host of cousins, friends, and business acquaintances.

He was born on January 4, 1954, in Troy, to Alice M. Jones and the late C.W. Jones. He attended college at Alabama State University and Troy State University. He retired as a captain in the United States Air Force and was self-employed with VFS Consultant Services.

Pallbearers will be the United States Air Force Honor Guard out of Maxwell Air Force Base in Montgomery.

Honorary pallbearers will be the brothers, brothers-in-law, and nephews. Floralbearers will be nieces and friends.
