The Troy Police Department charged a Troy man for the burglary of Charles Henderson Hiigh School yesterday.

Minutes after getting the call, officers with the Troy Police Department took a burglary suspect into custody.

Early Thursday, the officers responded to an alarm at Charles Henderson High School activated in the administration building at approximately 3:38 a.m.

According to information released by Chief Anthony Everage, officers observed damage to the front of the building and located a white male inside. Extensive damage to the property inside the building was noted during the investigation.

The subject found inside the school has been identified as John Patrick Nichols, 23, of Troy, who has been charged with burglary, third degree. He was arrested at 3:42 a.m.

Bond for Nichols was set at $7,000.
