Lugnuts win 19-14 shootout Thursday

The Lugnuts got a 4-for-4 showing out of Kasee Carter, including a double and seven RBI’s to power past the Lookouts in Angel League action Thursday 19-14.

With a seven-run fourth inning and a six-run fifth, the Lugnuts were able to hold off the Lookouts for the win.

Allison Jacobs went 3-for-4 for the Lugnuts with four RBI’s while Shay Hall, Kinsey Reynolds, Courtney Kelly, Keyani Foster, Mindy Carter and Alandria McBride all had singles. Kasee and Mindy and Hall all saw action on the mound.

PONYTAIL

Chicks 5, Jammers 3

The Chicks did all they had to in the fourth inning, scoring all five of their runs and holding on for a 5-3 win Thursday.

The win gave the Chicks sole possession of first place with a 3-0 record to start the season. It was the Jammers first loss of the season as Chicks pitcher Whitney Merrit picked up the win.

DIXIE YOUTH

Cardinals 10, Pirates 1

The Dixie Youth Cardinals got a complete game out of pitcher Chad Jordan as he gave up only four hits and struck out 12.

Jared Loftin led the Cards with a home run and a single while the Cardinal offense was bolstered by two hits from Jim Wallace, Zach Etheridge and Andrew Powell. Jordan, Chris Ward, Jefferey Davis and Percey Lee all had a one hit.

For the Pirates Hawkins Drinkard, Levi Davidson, Chris Davis and Josh Dykes all had hits.

Pirates 6, Braves 4

The Pirates scored all six of their runs in the third and fourth innings to pull of the victory Thursday.

Chase Bradley got the win striking out 10 while Tobias Lee got the loss striking out nine.

Drinkard had a double and two singles to lead the Pirates with Davidson, Davis, Bradley and James Jackson all getting hits. Tanner Hensley had two singles.

Jarrol Fielder had two hits, Brandon Golden had a double and Blake Turner and Azabia Whatley had singles.

DIXIE MINOR

Mariners 12, Twins 2

Clifton Brady and Sam Jones combined to strike out 11 Twin batters last Saturday as the Mariners remained undefeated on the season.

Justin Senn, Rickey Goodwin and Dontae Harris all scored twice for the Mariners.

Mariners 10, White Sox 6

Brady picked up his third win of the season to put him his win-loss record at 3-0 as the Mariners got past the White Sox to go 4-0 and remain the only unbeaten team in the league Thursday.

Jabore Cole, Brady and J.T. Coston all had hits and scored in the game for the Mariners.

The White Sox’s Dajon Lawson hit the first home run over the fence in the Dixie Minor league.
