Eugene Mosely, 38, of 215 Williams Street in Troy died Monday, April 17, 2000 at his residence.

His funreal will be at noon, Saturday, April 22 at New Shiloh Baptist Church in Troy with the Rev. Joseph Flowers presiding. Burial will follow at Mt. Ebell Cemetery in Arlington Ga. George F. Grubbs Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

Survivors include wife, Helen Mosely; sons, Marese Mosely, Jermaine Thomas; sisters, Carolyn L. Henderson of Arlington, Ga., Georgia B. Johnson of Albany, Ga., Sarah L. Mosely of Troy, Patsy B. Mosely of Troy, Mearlene Pritchett of Troy; brothers-in-law, Darfus Henderson of Arlington, Ga., Willie Johnson of Alabany, Ga., Charlie Thomas of Troy, Tommie Thomas of Troy, Nathaniel Thomas of Troy; sisters-in-law, Sarah Thomas of Troy, Mae Ola Thomas of Troy, Mary Flowers of Troy; a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

He was born on Aug. 1, 1961 in Arlington, Ga. to Pat and Jessie B. Mosely Blair. He was a utility worker with the Troy Housing Authority before his disability. He served as deacon of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church.

John W. "Jack" Smith

John W. "Jack" Smith, 83, of East Watts Street in Enterprise died Tuesday, April 18, 2000 at the Medical Center Enterprise after an extended illness.

His funeral will be at 10 a.m., Friday, April 21 at the First Baptist Church in Enterprise with Dr. Frank Wells and Rev. Tim Floyd presiding. Burial will follow at Meadowlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Patterson-Sorrells Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

Survivors include daughters, Sandy Smith of Enterprise, Pat Smith of Troy; Godchild, Ashley Watkins of Sylacauga; nephews, Ben and Mike Smith of Banks; Randall Smith of Troy; special friends, Don and Kathy Pullum of Enterprise.

Honorary pallbearers will be the Fellowhip Sunday School Class and the members of the Retired DOT, 7th division.

He was preceded in death by wife, Louise (Lou) Smith in 1995. He was a native of Pike County and had lived in Enterprise for the past 43 years. He was a retired engineer from the State of Alabama, Department of Transportation. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Enterprise and was also a charter member of the Enterprise Kiwanis Club.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday, April 20 at Patterson-Sorrells Funeral Home. The body will also be in the church 1 hour prior to service.
