Methodist churches in Troy and Brundidge will celebrate the Easter season with special performances this week.

The chancel choir and drama group of Park Memorial United Methodist Church will present The Journey at 7 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday.

The Journey is a new adult musical for Easter. It is an exciting worship-focused musical, remembering Christ as the Passover Lamb and celebrating Christ as the Savior.

Jesus had made the journey to Jerusalem to celebrate the Passover many times. But this time, He came to fulfill the purpose of the celebration. At this Feast of the Passover, He would not gather with His family and prepare a perfect lamb. This time, He would Himself become the perfect Lamb.

The membership of Park Memorial United Methodist Church invites the public to join them for "a memorable and life changing experience" as they celebrate the Easter season and "the Savior who gave up everything to give us life."

At 8 p.m. Thursday, Brundidge United Methodist Church will present a living dramatization of Leonardo da Vinci’s "The Last Supper" which is a recreation of da Vinci’s world-famous painting with 13 living characters.

In this living dramatization, the 12 apostles speak their minds to themselves, to each other and to the Lord in light of the words which they have just heard Jesus speak, "One of you will betray me."

As each of the apostles asks the question, "Is it I? Is it I?" the time is right for self-examination for each member of the congregation.

An open communion service will follow the dramatization of "The Last Supper."

The membership of Brundidge United Methodist Church invites the public to join them for this very special service of the Easter season.

Park Memorial is located at 750 Elba Highway in Troy and Brundidge United Methodist is located on North Main Street in Brundidge.
