Officers with the Troy Police Department, the Pike County Sheriff’s Department and other agencies have been actively seeking Constantine Burt, 26, since the Regions Bank on Park Street was robbed just before closing on Mar. 29.

The bank robbery case has been turned over to the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

Although the search for Burt continues, two others apprehended in connection with the robbery are in custody. They are Herbert Johnson and Claude Mims, 18, of Troy. Johnson is in his mid-20s.

FBI agents have obtained a federal warrant for robbery on Burt, who is described as a black male, standing 5’10" tall and weighing 160 pounds.

Burt has an extensive criminal history and is also wanted by Florida authorities for kidnapping and questioning in an armed bank robbery in that state. The suspect is considered to be armed and dangerous.
